I contributed my salary, what does this mean for me?

Our data offerings provide employers with the same data you see on our site but in the format they need to make compensation decisions. All data points remain anonymous. Our paid offerings allow us to invest in maintaining Levels.fyi and further our mission: to help people build better careers.

How is this different from the data on your site?

Data on the site is provided in raw form. For all paid offerings, you receive access to our benchmarking tool which allows you to filter, combine, and slice datasets with a unique set of filters. The dataset is also normalized so you can compare data across organizations. As a part of our Premium and Enterprise subscriptions, data points are also shared via a Google Sheet which also includes a Skill Index column allowing you to compare similar seniority across all supported companies. The is a numeric value in the range of 0 - 100. codifying the level, scope, and responsibility of the employee through our leveling normalization.

How do you ensure accuracy?

Although most data is self-reported from users on our site, we also have verified data that we collect from our users. Users can opt to submit their offer letters, pay statements, and other proof documents which we use to review the self-reported data. We also receive verified information from the candidate services we offer. To date, we’ve collected hundreds of verified proof documents allowing us to amass the largest, most accurate, self-reported compensation data set online. We encourage compensation analysts to review their companies' own data on our site for a demonstration of our accuracy.

In what format do I receive data?

The data can be accessed via our benchmark tool, and for our Premium and Enterprise tiers is also provided through a Google Sheet we provision access to. For these tiers, the Google Sheet refreshes with data everyday beginning from your purchase date. The sheet can be exported to Excel if you'd like.

Can I only view data aggregated within a peer group?

No, you can view data aggregated however you like! You can even filter down to a single company. Our data is provided as is and you can view the granular details of each data point. We don't have the same restrictions that other surveyors do.

Do I have to contribute data to receive the data?

No, you don't have to contribute your data to receive access.
